Newton OS
Newton OS is the operating system of the PDA Newton from Apple for Tablet such. B. the MessagePad or the eMate. It was released in the early 90s and discontinued in 1997. It is the first operating system written entirely in C ++ that has been optimized for low memory and processor consumption.
Just like the first Macintosh computers, the Newton has additional programs in its read-only memory (ROM) to leave more working memory (RAM) and flash memory for user programs.
There is no multitasking capability at the application level. The Newton OS can run applications written in C ++ and NewtonScript .
