Nic & the Family is a six-piece pop band from Helsingborg , founded in 2004 , consisting of the singer Nic Schröder, the two guitarists Alex Al Areas and Putte Rokk, the bassist Frida Worl, the keyboardist April May and the drummer Stellan Motväggen.

Career

Nic & the Family released their only album, Hej Hej Skiva , in the founding year , which entered the Swedish album charts at number 37 and stayed for four weeks. With Hej Hej Monika , the band landed at number one in the single charts and stayed in the charts for a total of 25 weeks. Hej det är Nic ... klick , the group reached another listing in the single charts.

The song Hej Hej Monika achieved international fame on December 12, 2017 when the Swedish web video producer PewDiePie mentioned it in one of his videos. Due to the popularity of this video, PewDiePie covered the song and published his version of the song on the YouTube platform . There the video has meanwhile reached more than 30 million views.
