Nick van Bloss

Nick van Bloss (* 1967 in London ) is an English pianist and author .

Van Bloss began playing the piano at the age of eleven. At the age of fifteen he began studying with Yonty Solomon as a junior student at the Royal College of Music . He was diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome when he was 21 years old . He performed in England and Europe for several years until 1994. After a break from 1994 to 2009, he gave another concert in front of 900 listeners in the Cadogan Hall in Chelsea with the English Chamber Orchestra . In 2006 Nick van Bloss published his book Busy Body - My Life With Tourette's Syndrome . In 2007 the BBC reported on van Bloss in a documentary called Mad but Glad . The American neurologist Oliver Sacks wrote about van Bloss in his book The One-Armed Pianist .
