Nico pyrotechnics

The Nico pyrotechnics Hanns-Jürgen Diederichs GmbH & Co. KG in Trittau was one of Europe's largest pyrotechnics provider . With around 1,000 employees in Germany alone, the company has manufactured and sold all kinds of pyrotechnic products. The production program included the entire range of modern pyrotechnics , from class I fountains to technical items such as distress signals and fertilizer mist up to defense technology.

history

The company was founded in 1949 by Hans Moog , Hanns-Jürgen Diederichs and Heinrich Nicolaus in the leased "Kunstfeuerwerkerei Gustav Burmester" in Trittau . Hans Moog from Wuppertal was the artist as the “Reichs-Cheffeuerwerker” (including the Olympics Berlin 1936 ), his authorized signatory Diederichs was the businessman and Heinrich Nicolaus brought the recipes from his factory in Meiningen / Thuringia . In 1970 Rheinmetall GmbH became the majority shareholder. At the end of the 1990s, Nico was associated with many companies around the world or was the owner. At that time the companies Pyrotechnik Silberhütte , Oskar Lünig (later incorporated into the NICO-Lünig Event ), Dr. Zaphiroff and NICO fireworks in Germany, Erich Liebenwein-Schult in Austria, Pyroprecision in Canada, Hammargrens in Sweden and Konic in South Korea to Nico.

At the beginning of the new millennium, Nico disintegrated with the withdrawal of the main shareholder Rheinmetall. Former employees and business partners continue to sell fireworks under the name NICO in the companies NICO-Feuerwerk and NICO-Lünig Event , now renamed NICO EUROPE GmbH , based in Wuppertal .
