Nihon Ishi Gakkai

Nihon Ishi Gakkai ( Japanese 日本 医 史学 会 , Japanese Society for the History of Medicine, JSHM) is a public corporation founded in 1892 by Fujikawa Yū and some companions and has since been engaged in research into the history of medicine and is dedicated to the dissemination of relevant knowledge. The Society's Secretariat is located in the Medical Faculty of Juntendō University in Tokyo . The company is also the first subsidiary of the Japanese Association of Medical Sciences (JAMS, Nihon Igakkai ).

The society publishes the journal Nihon Ishigaku Zasshi - Journal of the Japanese Society for the History of Medicine four times a year and awards two scientific prizes: the Fujikawa Yū Prize (formerly the 'Scientific Advancement Prize') and the Yakazu Prize .
