Nikolaus P. Himmelmann
Nikolaus P. Himmelmann (born August 2, 1959 ) is a German linguist ( general linguistics ).
Himmelmann, son of the archaeologist Nikolaus Himmelmann , studied general linguistics, philosophy and English at the University of Munich , where he received his doctorate in 1986. 1984 to 1986 he was a research assistant at the University of Cologne , 1989 to 1995 research assistant in Cologne and was qualified as a professor in 1995. From 1996 to 1998 he was a Research Fellow at the Australian National University in Canberra . In 1999 he became professor for general linguistics at the University of Bochum , in 2007 at the University of Münster and in 2010 at the University of Cologne.
