Nikon DL series

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nikon DL series was a planned series of high quality, compact digital cameras from the Japanese manufacturer Nikon . On February 23, 2016, three camera models were presented: the Nikon DL24-85 f / 1.8-2.8 with 2.8 × optical zoom, the Nikon DL18-50 f / 1.8-2.8 with 3.6 × optical zoom and the slightly larger Nikon DL24-500 f /2.8-5.6 with 21 × optical zoom in the format of a bridge camera .

Characteristics

The cameras of the Nikon DL series should have high quality lenses and their operation was based on DSLR cameras. However, size and weight corresponded to compact cameras or, in the case of the DL24-500, a bridge camera.

sensor

All cameras of the Nikon DL series should be equipped with the image sensor in 1-inch format known from the Nikon 1 series (called CX format for Nikon). The sensor has an aspect ratio of 3: 2 and measures 13.2 × 8.8 mm, the format factor relative to the 35mm format is 2.7 and the depth of field is 2.9 apertures longer than the 35mm format.

Market launch and cancellation

A market launch was originally planned for June 2016. In April 2016, Nikon announced that this appointment could not be kept. There are still important adjustments to be made to the image processing processor.

On February 13, 2017, Nikon announced that the DL series would not be released.
