The Nikon F-301 is a reflex camera that the Japanese camera manufacturer Nikon produced from 1985 to 1990. In the USA and Canada it was sold as the N2000 .
The single-lens 35mm camera is designed for 35 mm films in a recording format of 24 mm × 36 mm and has an automatic film advance. In addition to the single image mode, the built-in electric drive enables a mode for serial photography for the first time for Nikon , 2.5 images per second are possible. The film is rewound manually using a rewind crank.
The film sensitivity of the single lens reflex (SLR) camera can be set manually or automatically (via DX coding ) from ISO 12 to ISO 3200. The exposure measurement takes place via an SPD ( silicon photo diode ) photocell using integral measurement with center emphasis and a weighting of 40:60, a second SPD cell in the camera base is responsible for the TTL flash measurement . An LED chain in the viewfinder shows the determined shutter speed.
The F-301 is powered by four micro cells (AAA) . After replacing the battery holder, you can also use AA batteries.
In 1986, the Nikon F-501 was the first Nikon SLR camera with a built-in autofocus . The F-501 differs from the F-301 through the auto focus, an additional dual automatic program and interchangeable viewfinder screens and is otherwise identical to the F-301.
