Nisseviken (formerly also called Graunvik ) is a shallow bay of the Baltic Sea on the coast of the Swedish island of Gotland . It is located in the south of Gotland on the west coast between the Grundården and Snabben peninsulas. The bay is 56 km south of Visby , 14 km southwest of Hemse and twelve km northwest of Burgsvik .
A river, the Nisseån, flows into the northern part of Nissevikens bay after it has passed the village of Nisse a few hundred meters north of the bay.
Nisseviken has a rich bird life. For example, at the nearby lake Däppen, directly south of a leisure facility, cranes are often heard and seen.
At Nisseviken is the fishing place ( Swedish fiskeläge ) Nisseviken , which was previously called Marbodar.
