Nonnos of Edessa

Nonnos von Edessa (died 471 ) was a Christian saint. According to legend, he converted the later canonized sinner Pelagia . He was the successor of Ibas of Edessa, who was deposed as Bishop of Edessa in 449 . Ibas was rehabilitated in 451 by the Council of Chalcedon (in which Nonnos was also a participant). After Ibas' death in 457, Nonnos was again his successor.

Nonnos was also bishop of Heliopolis in Syria .

His feast day is December 2nd.
