North-South axis
North-South axis denotes:
- Architectural and urban planning axes generally running in north-south direction, see axis (architecture)
- important north-south connections in the transport sector, such as the transport routes through Europe via the Gotthard Pass or the Gotthard Railway through various tunnels or through the Lötschberg ( NEAT - Alpine Transversale ).
- in Roman town planning mostly the Cardo
