Northern right whale

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For a long time, the term northern right whale unified the two northern populations of the whale genus Eubalaena . In 2001, however, DNA analyzes of the genus proved that these populations were two distinct species : the northern Atlantic right whale ( Eubalaena glacialis ) and the northern Pacific right whale ( Eubalaena japonica ).
