Norges Naturvernforbund

Norges Naturvernforbund (short form: NNV ) is the largest nature conservation organization in Norway and national partner of Friends of the Earth International ; Founded in 1914, it is also the oldest nature and environmental organization in the country.

The NNV is a democratic association of more than 24,000 members (as of 2017). Its elected President is Lars Haltbrekken (since 2005), and General Secretary is Maren Esmark (since 2012). The organization has regional offices in all regions ( landets fylker ) and around 100 groups across the country. Natur og Ungdom (nature and youth) joined the NNV in 1968 as its youth organization. In 2006, Miljøagentene (environmental agents ) was founded as a children's organization.
