Normal capacity

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The normal capacity is a term used in production planning and control , and is there as the forward-looking, achievable under normal operational conditions the availability of operational use factors considered.

It is used for medium and long-term production planning and thus already takes into account the predictable capacity reductions and increases. (Company holidays, maintenance during working hours, works meetings, planned overtime)

The normal capacity of a work station is calculated as follows:

NKAP = number of shifts * shift duration - normal (capacity reductions - capacity increases)

The normal capacity of a work group n identical workstations NKAG is calculated as follows:

In many companies, normal capacity is not calculated analytically, but rather using experience-based percentage deductions from the theoretically usable capacity.
