The standards committee for welding and allied processes ( NAS ) at DIN , formerly the standards committee for welding technology, is responsible for national standardization and represents the German standardization interests at European level ( CEN ) in the CEN / TC (Technical Committee) 121 " Welding " and CEN / TC 240 " Thermal spraying and thermal sprayed layers ”as well as at the international level ( ISO ) in ISO / TC 44“ Welding and allied processes ”.

history

The NAS was founded in 1925. In 1999 the support group "Welding and Allied Processes" was founded in the NAS for financial support, to which about 112 companies, associations and institutions have joined, most of which are actively involved in the working bodies of the NAS.

Standard areas

Standardization work is defined for the following areas and areas:

  • Basic understanding,
  • Examination and evaluation of staff,
  • Procedural audits,
  • Additives for welding, soldering and thermal spraying,
  • Quality requirements,
  • destructive and non-destructive testing methods,
  • Requirements for occupational health and safety and
  • Equipment for gas, resistance and beam welding, thermal cutting and thermal spraying.

The standards committee consists of 26 working committees and the advisory board. Two of the 26 working committees are currently dormant (as of October 2012). In addition, the standards committee is divided into the following organizational units:
