Open-air museum Norra Berget

The open-air museum of the historical province of Medelpad Norra berget ( northern mountain ) is located in a leisure area in the Swedish city ​​of Sundsvall . The museum and leisure area are located on a 115 meter high mountain north of Sundsvall and were built from 1906.

The open-air museum includes 40 wooden and half-timbered buildings from different eras. The oldest is the wooden church from Haverö municipality , which belonged to Norway until 1645 . Most of the farms date from the 17th and 18th centuries. Since 2010, the open-air museum has also been an educational institution that organizes festivals, markets and lectures throughout the year. Animals of old domestic breeds live in the open-air museum.

In addition to the open-air museum, there is still a lookout tower, a hostel, two cafes and the Craft and Maritime Museum, which also has paintings of ships, hunting weapons and a stuffed skvader .
