North American Industry Classification System
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)
is a classification system used in Canada , Mexico and the USA to classify companies according to the type of their economic activities or production process. It is the successor to the Standard Industrial Classification System (SIC), although it is still used by certain government agencies such as the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
