Northern Maine Seaport Railroad

The Northern Maine Seaport Railroad (NMSRR) is a former railway company in Maine ( United States ). It was founded on December 1, 1904 and operated a 86.6 kilometer standard gauge railway line from South Lagrange to Searsport and a branch to Cape Jellison . Both routes were opened in 1905.

The company was leased from the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad for 999 years on July 7, 1907, and finally bought in 1919. The junction to Cape Jellison is no longer in operation. The rest of the route has belonged to the Montreal, Maine and Atlantic Railway since 2003 .
