Northern Technical College

Northern Technical College (NORTEC) is a technical college in Chela Road, Ndola , Zambia . Their job is to train middle-level professionals for the Copperbelt industry . NORTEC reports to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Professional Development.

historical development

Northern Technical College, founded in 1964, originally aimed to train people for employment in industry. In the meantime, the apprenticeship has adapted accordingly to the job market. In terms of society, classes have emerged that are now in the second generation at NORTEC.

Training goals

The areas of administration, information and communication, management of warehousing and material flow as well as various technical professions belong to the training facilities of the teaching institution. In the meantime, more specific goals such as strategic planning, strategic management, process and training analysis, system development, operational management, training and coaching, equipment analysis, repair and prevention are also being pursued at NORTEC. In addition, more and more emphasis is placed on the ability to set up one's own business after graduation, so that the college today must be seen as a technical, professional and entrepreneurial training institution.

In 2006 the college had nearly 1,000 students and about 100 employed instructors.

NORTEC cooperates with the Maastricht School of Management.
