The Norwegian Petroleum Museum

The Norwegian Petroleum Museum ( Norsk Oljemuseum ) is a museum in the Norwegian city of Stavanger . The focus is on offshore production in the North Sea . The architecture is reminiscent of a small drilling platform and is a landmark of the city, especially from the water.

In addition to numerous models of drilling platforms and various pieces of equipment, the origin of crude oil is also explained with the help of a 3D cinema . Another cinema shows a dive on a drilling platform.

The museum opened in May 1999.
