The Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL; न्यूक्लियर पावर कॉर्पोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया लिमिटेड) is a state-owned company in India based in Mumbai . It is responsible for the development, planning and construction of nuclear power plants and the use of nuclear energy to generate electricity. NPCIL is overseen by the Department of Atomic Energy and is the only power company in India that uses nuclear energy sources.

NPCIL was established in September 1987 as a joint stock company established (public limited company). The registered capital is 150 billion rupees .

6 nuclear power plants are currently in operation, and nuclear power plants are under construction at three locations.
