history

Max Fremder secured the rights to 2,4-D and MCPA for Australia in 1953 .

In 1982 it was taken over by the New Zealand chemical company Fernz Corporation . In 1988 the fertilizer business was sold. With the purchase of the Belvedere plant in England in 1994, the company entered the European market. In 1995 the crop protection business of Agrolinz-Melamin (in Linz , Austria) was taken over. Akzo Nobel's crop protection division followed a year later . In 1997 and 1998 the French company Compagnie Française de Produits Industriels (CFPI) was integrated in Paris. In 1999, the final takeover of the growth substances division of Rhône-Poulenc Agro followed . Together with the relocation of the headquarters to Melbourne, the name of Fernz Corporation Ltd. was changed in 2000. to Nufarm Limited. In 2001 there was an investment in the Indian Excel Industries . In 2002 Agtrol International was integrated. In the same year Nufarm Deutschland GmbH was founded in Cologne.

2004 saw the global takeover of the growth substances business of BASF and the distribution rights for Flamenco FS ( fluquinconazole ) and the Sportak line ( prochloraz ) for Germany and Austria. In 2006, a multi-year supply and distribution agreement between Nufarm and Bayer CropScience for diflufenican and diflufenican-based products was concluded in Europe.

In 2011 Nufarm marketed over 25 active ingredients internationally. The company is the largest producer of growth agent herbicides and is one of the leading suppliers of herbicidal active ingredients such as HBN ( Ioxynil and Bromoxynil ) or phenylureas ( Chlortoluron and Isoproturon ).
