Numis Post: The Swiss magazine for coins is a magazine for coin collectors .

description

It appears monthly with a double issue in July / August and is published by the publisher of the same name. Part of every issue is a list of the guide prices for Swiss coins since 1850 and for Swiss banknotes from 1907 to the present day.

The authors report on numismatic topics from antiquity to modern times. The magazine also contains information about events and occasions, new issues of coins and special topics.

history

The Numis-Post was founded in 1968 by Hans Schmid from Arbon , founded (TG), collectors and hobby shop of antiques, initially in the form of less photocopied sheets that were distributed at coin fairs and collectors' meeting. In 1969 the circulation was 10,000 copies. After Schmid's early death, his friend and collector colleague Gottlieb Schneider took over Numis-Post with the 9/1977 issue. After Schneider also died in 1984, the magazine was initially continued by his three children Ruth, Edith and Urs Schneider, and later by Ruth Schneider.

After merging with the collector's magazine Helvetische Münzzeitung HMZ , founded in 1966 , it was published from 2002 under the name Numis-Post & HMZ ; from January 2010, however, the name addition was dispensed with, and the magazine has since been distributed as Numis-Post again .
