Igor Berezovsky

Igor Berezovsky (also Berezovsky ; Russian Игорь Березовский / Igor Berezovsky; born May 17, 1971 ) is a German chess player of Ukrainian origin who was registered for the Russian Chess Federation until 1997 and has been playing for the Monaco Chess Federation since February 2014. He has held the title of International Master since 2001 .

In 1997 he won the 4th Backnanger Open . In 2002 he became the rapid chess champion in Baden-Württemberg in Schlier . Berezovsky plays for the Stuttgarter Schachfreunde 1879 , for whom he was also active in the 1st Bundesliga from 2001 to 2005  . He has also played in the Ukrainian and Swiss leagues and in Luxembourg for De Sprénger Echternach .

His Elo number is 2384 (as of April 2017), his highest Elo number of 2445 he reached in July 2007.

Private

Igor Berezovsky is married to Svetlana Berezovska , who won the Monegasque women's championship in 2015 and 2017 and has held the title Woman Candidate Master since 2016 . Their daughter Fiorina was part of the Monegasque women's selection at the 2016 Chess Olympiad in Baku at the age of nine.
