Ihor Olehovyč Beresovskyj ( Ukrainian Ігор Олегович Березовський , scientific transliteration Ihor Olehovyč Beresovsʹkyj ; born August 24, 1990 in Kirowohrad , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian football player in the position of goalkeeper .

Career

Berezovskyi began his football career at the Ukrainian club Olimpik Kirowohrad. In 2008 he signed his first professional contract with FK Sirka Kirowohrad . After two years he moved to Obolon Kiev , where he played 24 league games in three seasons. In early 2013 he moved to Legia Warsaw in Poland . In the summer of 2013 he moved on to Lierse SK in Belgium, after not being used in Warsaw . For Lierse he was in 25 league games between the posts. In 2015 there was a short loan to VV St. Truiden , for which he played four games. In 2016 Berezovsky signed a contract with Bundesliga club SV Darmstadt 98 . After the club had to relegate at the end of the 2016/17 season , Berezovskyi's contract was not extended. In February 2019, he returned to the Lilies for the remaining games of the 2018/19 season. Shortly after the start of the new second division season, Beresowskyj got another one-year contract in Darmstadt as a substitute goalkeeper behind the injured Marcel Schuhe and Florian Stritzel .

National team

Berezovsky played on June 5, 2011 against France a game for the U-20 national team. Three months later he made his debut in the U-21 national team , for which he was in goal for a total of 12 games until 2012, including five friendly matches and seven players in qualifying for the U-21 European Football Championship in Israel in 2013 , which the Ukraine missed.
