Felix Platte (born February 11, 1996 in Höxter ) is a German football player . The striker plays for SV Darmstadt 98 .

Club career

Beginnings

Platte comes from the Lippe village of Sabbenhausen , where he started playing football at TSV Sabbenhausen in 2000 and played until 2008. He then played for one season at TuS WE Lügde before moving to the youth department of SC Paderborn 07 .

In 2012 he found his way to the young talent center ( Knappenschmiede ) of FC Schalke 04 . In his first season at Schalke, with nine goals and seven assists in just 19 games, he had a share in winning the West German B youth championship . After the season he was used in the A-youth and was also there West German champion . He missed much of the season, however, due to hip problems and an ankle injury; in twelve games he scored five goals and prepared six more. In the 2014/15 season he scored seven goals and three assists after 14 games; there were also two goals and an assist in the DFB junior club cup and four goals in the UEFA Youth League .

Professional at FC Schalke 04

In November 2014 he received a professional contract valid from the 2015/16 season until June 30, 2017, which was modified and extended to 2018 for the 2015/16 season . On February 14, 2015 (21st matchday) he made his debut in the Bundesliga. Four days later he made his debut in a 2-0 defeat in the first leg of the round of 16 against Real Madrid in the Champions League .

Between Schalke and Darmstadt

In February 2016, Platte was awarded to league competitor SV Darmstadt 98 until the end of the 2015/16 season , in which it had previously been used for FC Schalke 04 . After eleven missions without his own goal, the loan was extended for the 2016/17 season at the end of June 2016 . In the 2-1 away win against Hamburger SV on April 22, 2017, the 30th matchday of this season, Platte scored his first Bundesliga goal for Darmstadt. At the end of the season he was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga with the club .

In the summer of 2017, Platte initially returned to FC Schalke 04. After he had not been in the matchday squad under coach Domenico Tedesco in the first DFB Cup round and on the first Bundesliga matchday, he returned to Bundesliga relegated SV Darmstadt 98 on August 26, 2017, with whom he received a four-year contract.

National team

On May 19, 2015 he was nominated for the provisional squad of the German U-19 national team for the U-19 European Football Championship 2015 in Greece . In March 2016 he made his debut for the German U-20s , for whom he has played a total of two times. In the 5: 6 semi-final win against England n. E. (1: 1) (2: 2) of the U-21 national team at the U-21 European Football Championship 2017 in Poland, he made his debut in both the German U 21 as well as a goalscorer there.
