The Nutty Narrows Bridge (Eng. "Nussige-Enge-Brücke") is a bridge that was specially built for gray squirrels . It crosses Olympia Way , a busy street in Longview , Washington , United States and allows gray squirrels to cross the road safely.
The Nutty Narrows Bridge was built in 1963 by Amos Peters after he repeatedly discovered gray squirrels that had been run over.
The concept of the squirrel bridge as a measure to protect species - here mostly the Eurasian squirrel - has also been used in various European countries since the beginning of the 21st century.
