OMX Vilnius Index

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The OMX Vilnius index , which by the year 2005 still under the name Vilse was known, is a capitalization-weighted stock index . It is now calculated by the Scandinavian OMX Group , which took over the Lithuanian stock exchange Vilnius in 2004.

The performance index contains all 32 Lithuanian stocks that are listed in the two segments “Main” and “I-List”. Despite this all-share approach, the industry distribution is quite one-sided. The weights of the two main sectors utilities (30.6 percent) and finance (23.7 percent) together with the telecommunications heavyweight TEO LT (13.8 percent) add up to almost 70 percent of the shares.
