OS / 390
OS / 390 is the predecessor of the z / OS operating system . It was the first operating system under IBM - mainframe computer system that has a Unix Personality possessed.
This personality was called OpenEdition in the first versions of OS / 390. This is where the term OMVS segment comes from under RACF , which is still in use today, although the Unix personality is now referred to as Unix System Services .
