Oasis flight

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The oasis flight was an international flight competition in the 1930s. It was advertised by the Egyptian Aeroclub. Certain requirements for the aircraft were not made. The flight competition consisted of flight tasks (e.g. navigation , low-consumption flying, speed) and a technical evaluation of the participating aircraft. The oasis flight required pilots and aircraft to be very reliable because navigation over low-contrast desert sand is difficult and high outside temperatures with a high proportion of dust in the air cause the technology many problems.
