2008: a ZiU-9 in use on line 2
The Gori trolleybus was the trolleybus operator of the Georgian city of Gori . Apart from the Sochumi trolleybus , which still exists today , it was the penultimate trolleybus operation in the country.
history
The Gori trolleybus opened on April 30, 1972. After a larger network was built over the years, operations were reduced to three lines 1, 2 and 3 in 1992. Finally, in 2006, line 3 was also given up. After the Russian occupation of Goris in 2008 and due to renovation work, there were temporarily no trolleybuses. After the withdrawal, lines 1 and 2 were reactivated in September 2008. On March 24, 2010, the company finally ceased operations. A reactivation that was planned in the meantime could not be realized.
