The Upper Silesian Wanderer was a German-language newspaper that appeared from 1828 to 1945 and was published by Neumann's city book printer in Gleiwitz from 1828 to 1933 .

The Upper Silesian Wanderer was first published in 1828 by Neumanns Stadtbuchdruckerei, founded in 1826 and based on Gleiwitzer Ring .

The illustrated supplement Oberschlesien im Bild appeared for the first time on February 15, 1924 .

In 1933 the newspaper became the organ of the NSDAP. In 1936 the "Oberschlesische Druckerei und Verlagsanstalt GmbH" took over the publication of the newspaper. In 1939 the Wanderer was united with the National Socialist newspaper “Deutsche Ostfront” and went to the NS-Gauverlag Oberschlesien GmbH. This published it until 1945.

The last edition appeared on January 26, 1945, two days after the city of Gliwice was occupied by the Red Army.
