history

The Oberwil Rebells were founded on April 19, 2000. They arose from a split of the then 2nd team from Zug Cormorants 97 . The rise of the rebels rose rapidly. Already in the first season they won the title in the first division and managed immediate promotion to the national league B. There, after a third and second place, they finally also became champions in the 2003/2004 season and thus only managed four years the establishment of promotion to the top division. There, too, the adjustment time was very short. The rebels finished their first NLA year in third place. In the same year, the rebels win their first national title by winning the cup. This cup win was a first harbinger of the dominance that the rebels should have in Swiss street hockey in the coming years. Oberwil won the championship title 7 times in a row between 2006 and 2012, plus 6 full successes in the Swiss Cup. This made the rebels the most successful Swiss street hockey club in history. Oberwil also took possession of the international stage - in 2011 and 2012, the rebels crowned themselves the best street hockey team in Europe by winning the European Cup.
