Odilón Mireles

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Odilón Mireles is a retired Mexican soccer coach who coached various Mexican soccer clubs in the 1970s .

career

In the 1973/74 season Mireles coached the Club Universidad de Guadalajara , with whom he reached the finals for the second division championship , which were lost to the UANL Tigres (0-3 and 2-0). Nevertheless, the team he trained played in the following season through the acquisition of a license from CF Torreón in the top Mexican division , although Mireles should no longer have looked after them there. At least he was for part of the 1974-75 season in the second division play CD Irapuato active, who also reached the finals at the end of the season, but against UAG Tecos lost. It is not known whether Mireles was still responsible for the Freseros de Irapuato at the time.

In the first half of the 1977/78 season he coached the first division club Atlas Guadalajara and was replaced prematurely due to unsuccessfulness, but the (so far last) descent of the traditional club could not be averted by his successors.

In the 1978/79 season Mireles was obliged as the fifth coach of this season shortly before the end of the season by the relegation-threatened Tiburones Rojos Veracruz , but could not prevent relegation.

In the 1979/80 season he was one of four coaches for the UANL Tigres.
