It is a 100% subsidiary of Oesterreichische Kontrollbank Aktiengesellschaft (OeKB).

In August 2018, it received approval as a central securities depository and approval to provide banking-type ancillary services in accordance with the corresponding EU regulation Art 54 CSDR.

The management is made up of Peter Felsinger and Georg Zinner.

Its business area includes the provision of central services for the participants in the Austrian capital market: It takes over the securities of the issuers taking up capital for safekeeping and administration for the investors. It carries out the booking orders of the investors to process the securities transactions that they have concluded on the stock exchange and over the counter. It controls the payments from the issuer to the investors in order to meet the claims evidenced by the securities.

Functional model

The functional model of OeKB CSD represents the basis for its structural and process organization as well as for its corporate documentation and the legal relationships with its customers (general business relationships).

Custody account management

Custody account management includes all tasks relating to the provision and management of custody accounts at the highest level (central account management). As part of this function, OeKB CSD manages custody accounts for custodian banks, investment firms, central securities depositories, central counterparties and specialist institutions.

Cash account management

The cash account management function includes all tasks of the bank-like ancillary service. In this function, OeKB CSD manages cash accounts in euros and common foreign currencies for its customers. The purpose of the money accounts is limited to their activity as CSD.

Settlement

Settlement comprises all tasks in the operation of a securities delivery and settlement system (settlement service).

As part of this function, OeKB CSD executes instructions (booking orders) that are issued to it by deposit and cash account holders. The OeKB CSD is a system in accordance with Section 2 (2) of the Finality Act.

Asset servicing

Asset servicing includes the tasks listed in the appendix to the CSDR under Section B Paragraph 2 lit. b) Support in the implementation of corporate actions and other corporate law measures, including services relating to taxes, general meetings and information services.

For securities that OeKB CSD as Issuer CSD has itself stored and managed, it redeems due values ​​and processes capital measures as part of this function.

Notary Services & Safekeeping

Notary Services & Safekeeping includes all tasks related to the initial booking of securities in the securities account (notarial service). As part of this function, OeKB CSD takes on securities in order to keep and manage them as Issuer CSD. The transferred securities are kept in your safe.

Cooperation between capital market participants

OeKB CSD supports the Austrian capital market, among other things, by participating in working groups, initiatives and associations. Often she takes on the coordination of communication among the respective participants to develop standards.
