The Gmina Janowiec Wielkopolski (until the end of 1991 Gmina Janowiec ) is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Żniński of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Janowitz ) with about 4000 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located on the western border of the voivodeship, in the north it borders on the municipality of the district town Żnin . One of the waters is the Wełna (Welna) , a tributary of the Warta .
history
As part of the first partition of Poland in 1772, the municipality came to Prussia . In 1919 it became part of the reborn Poland . After the occupation (1939-1945) of the Second World War , the community came back to Poland before the end of the war.
From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship .

traffic
The state road DK5 ( E 261 ) runs east, beyond the municipal boundary . The voivodship road DW251 leads through Juncewo in the north of the municipality.
Passenger traffic on the Oleśnica – Chojnice railway line has ceased. Railway stations were in Janowiec and Gącz.
The nearest international airports are Poznań-Ławica in the south-west and Bydgoszcz in the north-west. Both are about 50 kilometers from Janowiec Wielkopolski.
