The Hyatt Regency San Francisco is a hotel on Market Street in the financial district of San Francisco . The hotel is part of the Embarcadero Center complex of property developers Trammell Crow, David Rockefeller and John Portman .

Change of ownership

In January 2007, Strategic Hotel Capital LLC sold the building to Dune Capital Management and DiNapoli Capital Partners for almost US $ 200 million - around $ 250,000 per room. In December 2013, Aliso Viejo- based Sunstone Hotel Investors, Inc. acquired the property for $ 262 million.

The hotel as a film set

The lobby of the Hyatt Regency can be seen in the 1974 film Inferno , the Mel Brooks comedy High Anxiety , the 1977 film Telephone, and Time After Time 1979.
