The Bydgoszcz Ignacy Jan Paderewski Airport ( Pol. Port Lotniczy Bydgoszcz Ignacy Jana Paderewski. , IATA code : BZG , ICAO code : EPBY ) is a Polish airport near Bydgoszcz ( Bromberg ).
The airport was named after Ignacy Jan Paderewski . One area is still used by the Air Force of the Republic of Poland .
Location and transport links
The airport is located three kilometers south of the city center of Bydgoszcz. The passenger terminal has its own junction on national road 25 .
history
The international airport was expanded until 2004 , and a new passenger terminal was opened on May 1st of that year.
Military use
The former 2nd air base, 2 Baza Lotnicza , was closed in 2010. Since then, the task of Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze 2 (Military Repair Company No. 2) has been the maintenance of combat and passenger aircraft.
Civil use
Airlines and Destinations
The airport is used by the airlines LOT , Lufthansa and Ryanair . First and foremost are hubs served in Western Europe. Domestic flights have recently also been offered (to Warsaw). In addition, seasonal charter flights are carried out.
