The Zielona Góra Airport ( Polish : Port lotniczy Zielona Góra-Babimost ) is a regional airport in the greater Zielona Góra ( Green Mountain ), in the field of urban and rural-community Babimost ( Babimost ) in western Poland . There is only one route to Warsaw. In the past there have been some international connections, e.g. B. to Dresden. The airport was used for military purposes until 2004 and then handed over to the local authorities. It is a regional airport located in the Zielona Góra agglomeration (the so-called Lubusian Tri-City) in western Poland. The airport is 10 km from Sulechów and 35 km northeast of downtown Zielona Góra. The airport is the smallest of all international airports in Poland. Since the end of military use, the airport has been operated by the state-owned company Porty Lotnicze (PPL), the operator of Warsaw Airport . There is a dispute as to whether a separate company under the administration of the regional authorities should take over the management of the airport, since the airport could not achieve commercial success under the leadership of the PPL.

The airport is located in the town of Kramsko, near the town of Babimost, 95 km west of Poznań , 90 km east of the German border and 170 km from the center of Berlin . Around 3 million inhabitants of the Lubusz region (Polish: Ziemia Lubuska) and western Greater Poland ( Wielkopolska ) live in the airport's catchment area .
