Office of Scientific Research and Development

The Office of Scientific Research and Development ( OSRD ; German  "Office for Scientific Research and Development" ) was an agency of the US government for the coordination of research for military purposes during the Second World War and was part of the National Defense Research Committee (NDRC) emerged.

OSRD Director Vannevar Bush reported directly to President Franklin D. Roosevelt .

On June 28, 1941, the OSRD officially started work and in December 1947 it stopped again.
