The Official Gazette Bahamas (German: Official Gazette of the Bahamas ) is the official law and gazette of the Bahamas . It has been published by the Cabinet Office in Nassau since 1973 . The printing is done by the Government Printing Department while the Government Publications Office makes the newspaper available to the public. The forerunner of today's Gazette was the Official Gazette Bahamas , published between 1894 and 1973 . Section 4 of the Interpretation and General Clauses Act provides for the regular publication of the Gazette, on the one hand to inform the population about the activities of the government, and on the other hand, in laws and regulations, publication in the Gazette is often a prerequisite for the entry into force is prescribed.

The Gazette is divided into five different editions. The main volume ( Official Gazette (Main) ) is published once a week on Tuesdays. It contains, among other things, notices of appointments, transfers, promotions and resignations of public officials . In addition, the appointments of honorary consuls and notifications about the opening of wills are published here. In Supplement Part I , the laws passed by the Parliament of the Bahamas are published. In Supplement Part II , subordinate legal provisions such as statutes are published. The Supplement Part III - Trademark Journal contains notices about trademark registrations and copyrights . The supplements appear as required and are appended to the current main volume. The Extraordinary Gazette contains all legal provisions that are particularly urgent to be published. For this reason, this issue appears every day except Tuesday.
