Olaf Zawacki-Richter

Olaf Zawacki-Richter (* 1972 ) is a German educator.

Life

He received his PhD in 2003 on the development of online courses. From 2003 to 2007 he was project manager for internet-based training projects in the banking sector at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management . After a substitute professorship for educational technology at the Fernuniversität in Hagen (2008 to 2010) and his habilitation in educational sciences with a focus on continuing education in 2010 at the University of Mainz , he has been teaching as professor for knowledge transfer and learning with new technologies at the University of Oldenburg since October 2010 . Olaf Zawacki-Richter is Director of COER (Center of Education Research) and, since April 1, 2019, Managing Director of the Center for Lifelong Learning (C3L).

His work focuses on distance learning research (instructional design, support in online studies, competence development on the internet, organizational development and e-learning), further education research (international comparison of further education systems, studies for professionals, bibliometric analyzes of the fields of international further education research) and personnel development (e- Learning in in-company further training and competence management).
