Oliver Kentish

Oliver John Kentish (* 1954 in London ) is a British-born cellist, teacher and composer. In 1977, it is however to Reykjavik pulled and got 1989 the Icelandic nationality .

In addition to composing , Kentish has been the director of the Iceland Amateur Symphony Orchestra since 2005 .

Kentish was commissioned by the British government in 1993 to write Mitt Folk , which was performed by the Iceland Symphony Orchestra . His work commemorated Iceland's 50th birthday as a republic. It was a gift from Great Britain to Ireland.
