Olympia (originally National Agricultural Hall ) is a London exhibition hall in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham . The client was the National Agricultural Company. Construction work began in June 1885. The construction company was Andrew Handyside , the architect was Henry E. Coe .

It was opened on December 27, 1886. The hall, now known as the Olympia Grand Hall , was considered the largest steel and glass building in Great Britain at the time of its completion. The central hall is 138.15 meters long and 76.2 meters wide. The cost of construction was £ 131,573 .

In 1896 there was a first extension, which is called the Pillar Hall .

The first British aviation exhibition took place here in 1909. It was organized by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and opened on March 19, 1909.

In 1923 a second hall was built, which is now called the Olympia National Hall . In 1929 the Olympia Two hall was added, which was originally called the Empire Hall .

In 1959 an extension of the Grand Hall called West Hall was added. In 1987 the Olympia Conference Center was opened in Olympia Two.

The current operating company is EC&O Venues , which also operated Earls Court .

The Olympia has hosted the Olympia London International Horse Show , one of the UK's largest horse shows , since 1907 .
