Olympic Village (Athens)

The Olympic Village in Athens ( Greek Ολυμπιακό Χωριό ) is located at the foot of Mount Parnitha on the outskirts of Athens . A central Olympic village was established. The area was not previously used and the construction of the village was financed by the Social Housing Organization. For the duration of the 2004 Olympic Games , the buildings were handed over to the ATHOC (Athens Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games). After the games, the living quarters were made available to the beneficiaries of the Workers Housing Organization .
