history

Omega Diatribe was founded in 2008 by guitarist Gergő Hájer (ex-SyCo I) and bassist Ákos Szathmáry (ex-Blindfold). They rehearsed with Jeromos Nagy, who played the drums. In 2010 Jeromos Nagy left the band and was replaced by Dávid Metzger (from the band Horda) as the new drummer. Attila Császár from the band Stopyt also joined as a second guitarist. In 2011 singer Gergely Komáromi was added.

Omega Diatribe released a three-song demo in late 2012. On October 21, 2013 Omega Diatribe released their first album Iapetus . The album was mixed and mastered by Gergő Hájer, his own guitarist. The artwork is by Dávid Metzger. After the release of Iapetus , the band gained worldwide attention. The album finished in second place in the category "Best Debut Album of the Year" at the Hungarian Metal Awards HangSúly. Then the band separated from the drummer Dávid Metzger.

Omega Diatribe released the song Hyrdozoan Periods on June 16, 2014 with American drummer Kevin Talley. On February 26th, 2015 the band released the EP Abstract Ritual with drummer Kevin Talley. At the beginning of 2015, Tommy Kiss joined as a permanent drummer. Omega Diatribe has signed a record deal with Independent Ear Records from America. Abstract Ritual will be re-released in the US with an exclusive remix on September 11th.
