  • Omeropfer : Since these sheaves as victims in the Jerusalem temple were brought ( Leviticus 23.9 to 11  EU ), is this sacrifice as well as Omer called.
  • Omer measure: measure of capacity for the amount of barley that is to be sacrificed.
  • Counting the Omer : In addition, the seven-week period between Passover and Shavuot , during which this sacrifice was made, is also known as the Omer ( Leviticus 23.15–16  EU ). Today there is no longer a temple in Judaism, but the 49 days between Passover and Shavuot are still counted. The seven weeks between Easter and Pentecost correspond to this period.
