Alfred von Vivenot

Alfred Ritter Edler von Vivenot , from 1867 Ritter von Vivenot , (born August 6, 1836 in Vienna , † July 9, 1874 there ) was an Austrian officer and historian.

Life

Alfred von Vivenot was a son of the doctor Rudolph Edler von Vivenot from his second marriage to Antonie von Bergenthal (1820–1846) and the grandson of the Viennese doctor Dominik von Vivenot , who had made a name for himself during the 1830 cholera epidemic . After the Austro-Prussian War, in which he had served as captain, he wrote numerous essays and books on military history.

The physician and climatologist Rudolph von Vivenot was his half-brother.

Alfred von Vivenot was buried in the Weidlinger Friedhof near Vienna.
