On-Line Picasso Project

The On-Line Picasso Project is a digital collection and treasure trove of the literary and artistic work of Pablo Ruiz Picasso . It was established in 1997 by Enrique Mallen ( Sam Houston State University ) and overseen by the Center for the Study of Digital Libraries at Texas A&M University and the Foreign Languages ​​Department at Sam Houston State University. It last comprised on April 4, 2015:

  • 25,206 cataloged works of art
  • 12,778 work notes
  • 6,420 work comments
  • 3,829 collections listed
  • 12,293 biographical entries
  • 1,053 biographical comments
  • 4,673 selected references
  • 14,379 articles archived

The project offers researchers, connoisseurs and visitors alike the opportunity to gain an overview of the most important events in Picasso's life and of his works of art, as well as the museums and collections that own works by him. Direct access has not been possible since around the beginning of 2011. Those interested in art must first request a personal password for the project, which can be obtained free of charge via email to the author of the project, via the entry page.

OPP is the abbreviation that is used for the reference number of the works, based on the pattern OPP.xx: zzz , xx = two-digit year, zzz = serial number of the entry.
