OnNow

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

OnNow is the name of a technology integrated by Microsoft in Windows 98 and 2000 , which enables a computer to be switched on quickly or to be "woken up" from standby mode by switching on or reactivating external devices.

The technology relied on the ACPI , which was newly introduced by Microsoft and Intel at the time , but, according to some assumptions, could not establish itself because the name could not be assigned to a clear function.
